Know the requirements.
Indian passport photo requirements depend on where you apply. This guide separates the Bahrain mission’s digital upload and printed photograph from applications inside India.

Digital photograph for the Bahrain mission
The embassy’s ICAO guidance specifies 630 × 810 pixels and face coverage of 80–85%. Look straight ahead, keep your eyes open and mouth closed, and use even lighting without shadows.
Printed photograph in Bahrain
The embassy’s passport application instructions separately request a recent 2 × 2 inch white-background photo attached to the printed form. Do not confuse this square print with the digital upload.
Applying inside India
Passport Seva asks applicants below four years old to bring a recent 45 mm high × 35 mm wide photograph with a white background. Follow the checklist for your own application location.

A preview is not an approval. Final acceptance is decided by the issuing authority.
Common questions
Is there one size for every Indian passport application?
No. The mission, application channel and printed versus digital requirement matter.
Does MULTIPASS certify my photo?
No. A correctly sized preview does not establish compliance with the unaltered-photo rule.
